ICAC at the RF CCI

The International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the leading arbitration court in Russia and in East European countries which deals with resolving disputes of international nature; it is the successor of the Foreign Trade Arbitration Commission (FTAC), created legislatively in 1932. The ICAC is one of the largest and authoritative arbitration centers in the world, recognized by domestic and foreign entrepreneurs. For example, in the year 2014 the ICAC has rendered 245 arbitral awards and orders on termination of arbitral proceedings. Of these 232 awards and orders were rendered in cases in which at least one of the parties was a foreign company, the remaining 13 cases involving both parties from Russia one of which is a company with foreign investments. One may also note a trend of the growing number of cases submitted to the ICAC in which both parties to the dispute are foreign companies – in the year 2014 the ICAC considered 12 such cases. Generally, in the same year companies from 44 countries participated in the ICAC proceedings. Since 1999 the ICAC is the member of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI). This website, operating since 2005, describes the activity of the ICAC today and in the past and provides general information about settling disputes in the ICAC. It also provides texts of the Rules of the ICAC and the list of arbitrators in the Russian and English languages, selected materials of the ICAC arbitration practice and related judicial decisions. This website also contains  links to other websites of international organizations that publish texts of the most important international treaties which are used when settling commercial disputes in the ICAC or when enforcing its awards abroad.
